Hilary Duff confirms her return to music with the announcement of the single “Mature”

Hilary Duff’s musical comeback now has an official release date. The singer announced on Monday (November 3) that she would break a decade-long musical hiatus on Thursday (November 6) with the release of the single “Mature.”

The 37-year-old former Disney Channel star is preparing to return with her first new music since 2015. Inhale, exhale. and the cover art for “Mature” features a brooding triptych of the singer gazing pensively into the distance. “I’m so happy you guys can finally hear it. I’ve kept this one quiet for too long,” Duff wrote in an Instagram post Monday afternoon (November 3), officially announcing the single and revealing the cover art.

Duff has spent most of the last decade focusing on acting, including starring roles in television series. How I met your father And Younger. In addition to the new music, a parallel docuseries chronicling Duff’s long-awaited musical comeback and his personal journey is also in the works.

Duff, a longtime ally of the LGBTQ+ community, recently said Variety that his musical comeback was a love note to his queen fanbase. “You know, it’s all for them. It’s just to impress them,” Duff said of gay fans’ excitement over the news. In this same Variety chat, Duff teased that new music was coming “very soon,” adding that she was in the studio working with her husband, singer/producer Matthew Koma, and “a few other incredibly talented people.”

The documentary, produced by Grammy-nominated director Sam Screw (Taylor Swift: the era tour), promises to provide insight into Duff’s long-awaited musical comeback and personal journey. “Embracing the highs, the lows and everything in between, fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, rehearsing live shows and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade,” reads a release announcing the project, noting that it will feature a mix of “verité footage, stylized interviews, performances and videos from her personal archive.”

Duff rose to fame on the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s, then transitioned to pop music in the mid-2000s with Hot 100 hits including “Come Clean” (No. 35) and “Wake Up” (No. 29), with her most recent appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015 with the Inspire. Expire. the single “Sparks”.
