High boy actor charged with rape

Bafta’s winning actor Micheal Ward, known for his roles in programs and films such as Top Boy, Small Ax and Blue Story, was accused of rape.

Mr. Ward, 27, from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, is accused of two rape leaders and three chiefs of sexual assault, the metropolitan police announced.

The alleged offenses concern a woman and took place in January 2023, according to The Force.

The actor made his name as one of the cult stars Hit Blue Story in 2019 and won the Rising Star Prize at the Bafta Film Awards the following year.

He played Jamie in Netflix struck Top Boy from 2019 to 22 years old and was nominated for the best actor in the Bafta TV Awards for Small Ax in 2021.

He also played in the drama acclaimed in 2022 Empire of Light, and will also be seen in the next Western film of the American pandemic era Eddington.

Mr. Ward is expected to appear before the Thames Magistrate Court in London on August 28.

The Scott Ware of DET DU MET said: “Our specialized officers continue to support the woman who arose – we know that surveys on this nature can have a significant impact on those who make reports.”

Catherine Baccas, deputy chief prosecutor of the Crown for CPS London South, said: “After having carefully examined a proof file, the Crown prosecution service authorized the metropolitan police to instill the Micheal district, 27, with two rape leaders, two chiefs of assault by penetration and a chief of sexual assault against a woman in January 2023.”

She added: “We remind all the concerns that the procedures against the suspect are active and that he is entitled to a fair trial.

“It is essential that there is no report, comments or online information sharing which could in any case prejudice these procedures.”
