Hherik Pandya to undergo a fitness test, the T20i return of Shreyas Iyer, almost confirmed –

Before Asia Cup 2025, Hherik Pandya will undergo a fitness test at BCCI COE in Bengaluru while Shreyas Iyer finished his test
India cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya will undergo a fitness assessment at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. Multiple Indian players have either already checked in at the NCA or are scheduled to do so ahead of the 8-nation tournament that commences from September 9. Pandya, who is an integral part of India’s white-ball setup, has been on a break since the conclusion of IPL 2025 but already commenced training a month ago.
Asia Cup: Pandya heads to NCA, Iyer clears test
As per Times of India, Pandya is set to undergo a fitness assessment on August 11 and 12. The all-rounder took to Instagram on Sunday to share a story with a caption, “A short trip to the NCA.” Meanwhile, the report states that Shreyas Iyer completed his fitness test between July 27-29. The middle-order batter, who last featured in a T20I in 2023, is tipped to return to the side for Asia Cup 2025 as the selectors feel they need his class and experience of batting in the middle-order. Despite remaining out-of-favour of the national selectors, Iyer has managed to turn the tide and impress them with consistent performances in domestic tournaments and the IPL.
SKY to take one more week to recover
The report further states that T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is expected to take at least one more week to recover completely. After undergoing a sports hernia surgery earlier in June, the swashbuckling batter checked into the NCA in Bengaluru last week as he commenced his preparation to make his comeback.
“It is learnt that Surya is expected to spend another week at the NCA to regain full fitness under the watchful eyes of the physios and medical team,” the report stated.
