Henry Golding reveals that the series of rich Asians could fall next year

Fans of “Crazy Rich Asians” have patiently await a series of success since its release in 2018. With follow -up of the original Kevin Kwan novel already mature for adaptation – “China Rich Girlfriend” of 2015, “Rich People Problems” of 2017 and “Lies and Weddings” of 2024 – and the massive return to his investment Warner Bros. even inevitable. Earlier this year, however, it was reported that a television series was in development for HBO Max with Lim Back on board as a showrunner and director John M. CHU as an executive producer. Lim has become a Hollywood power since its success “Rich Crazy”, writing the “Raya and the Last Dragon” nominated in the Oscars and moving in the sphere of realization with the famous “Joy Ride” and the next suite “Princess Diaries”. CHU, of course, directed something called “wicked” last year – and that apparently has a sequel in November.

Now Henry Golding has discussed the development of the series “Crazy Rich Asians”, the first indication of the participation of the original actors.

“Something is done,” Golding told Andy Cohn on “Watch What Happens Live”. “I think we are really going to make a series. This is what they are trying to give us. Targeting as the first quarter, even next year. ”

It is also the first establishment of a potential calendar for the series. Golding revealed that there are already stories written for the show, although he has not yet seen them.

“There are scripts lying around but they have not yet been transmitted. I haven’t read anything, but I hear it’s promising,” he said.

Whether the rest of the distribution returns or not for the series is not clear. Since its release, Michelle Yeoh has appeared in “Everything Everywhere All Am Fack” and has won an Oscar, in addition to also playing a central role in “Wicked”. Constance Wu expressed Daphne in “Velma”, appeared with Bill Murray in “The Friend”, played several stage roles and published a best -selling autobiography. Awkwafina was very, very busy, appearing in three films in 2024 only.

Golding will appear with Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman in “The Old Guard 2” by Netflix, which falls on the platform on July 2, the same day, the final of its Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers”.
