Fans wait patiently three years to see the second season of “Peacemaker”. After the morally questionable superhero played by John Cena made his debut in “The Suicide Squad” in 2021, he obtained his own television series HBO Max which gave us one of the best stories of comics of DC of the 21st century. Although the show is scorching and hilarious, it is also really emotional and deals with trauma and sorrow in a surprisingly magnificent way.
Honestly, we should probably not have been surprised because the series is from “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Suicide Squad”, director James Gunn. It’s just a shame that it took him so long to get back with Peacemaker. However, as he was busy giving us a new fully satisfactory version of Superman who led to the best summer blockbuster in 2025, we will not hold him against him.
Because more than three years have passed since the beginnings of “Peacemaker”, you may have forgotten a little detail that you will not want to miss when the second season will return on August 21, 2025. Each episode of the first season of “Peacemaker” had a post-key scene. It was never really something like a successful film credits with major teasing for the next episode, but instead, it was often just a different grip or a widely given version of a given scene. Sometimes it was only an additional funny moment that was not at all in the episode. This trend continues with season 2 of “Peacemaker”.
Peacemaker Season 2 maintains the laughter after the credits
HBO Max provided the first five episodes of season 2 of “Peacemaker” for the prevailing press, and in case you have not heard it, it is certainly worth waiting. At the same time, we can confirm that at least the first five episodes all have a kind of post-key scene. We assume that this will also be the case with the three remaining episodes that will end the season.
In case you end up missing it the first time, the episode of the first of season 2 has a post-key scene which returns at one point between Chris Smith (Cena) and Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) where they have a fun exchange which involves insulting a certain group of alternative rock. In the post-key scene, the conversation continues briefly, taking another blow in the same musical group (which may or not have a leader who has sadly played in another film of DC comics). Trust us, you will want to stay for quick gag credits if you can, and make sure to do the same with the rest of the episodes of this season.
