HARRY POTTER Set Photos Reveal Actor’s First Look at Hogwarts [SPOILER] is revealed

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, several sets have been built for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series set in Hertfordshire, England. It looks like these will all be different parts of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with the castle itself likely being a CG creation.

As well as various parts of the castle grounds, we have Madam Sprout’s herbal greenhouse, a garden leading to the Quidditch pitch and a building that looks an awful lot like Hagrid’s hut.

Fans wonder how HBO Harry Potter would be different from the films, and these settings suggest that Hogwarts will have a very different atmosphere. Hagrid’s house, in particular, is very different from the stone hut seen on the big screen.

It was also revealed today that French actor Lambert Wilson (A great friend) was chosen to play Nicolas Flamel, with Swiss actress Marthe Keller (Man marathon runner) was chosen to play Pernelle Flamel.

Why this spoiler tag for two fairly minor characters? Well, Flamel and his wife didn’t appear in the Harry Potter books or films, so the scenes we saw being filmed with John Lithgow’s Dumbledore yesterday are new in this story.

“Even though I’m definitely aware of what came before me in terms of Robbie’s incredible performance, I would never try to be Robbie,” Hagrid actor Nick Frost said this earlier this year. “I’m going to try to do something, not ‘different’, I think you have to be respectful of the subject, but within that there is room for details.”

“I think the beauty of being able to do one book per season means I can explore that a lot more, and I can’t wait.” he continued. “He’s funny! I want it to be funny and cheeky and scared and protective and childish. That’s what I intend to do.”

The first season of Harry Potteran adaptation of the novel by JK Rowling Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonewon’t be released on HBO for a few years, so the set photos will have to suffice for now as an official first look is undoubtedly a long way off.

The series will also star Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge and Leigh Gill as Griphook.

The series is written and produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will produce and direct several episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is produced by JK Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, as well as David Heyman of Heyday Films.

Harry Potter premieres on HBO in 2027.
