Bayern Munich found the title of Bundesliga this afternoon – giving Harry Kane his first major trophy – after the closest Challengers, Bayer Leverkusen was held in a 2-2 draw in Freiburg.
Leverkusen, who claimed the crown last season for the first time in their history under Xabi Alonso, had to win to keep the race alive, but found himself 2-0 after a strike by Maximilian Eggestein and a own goal from Piero HincapiΓ© on each side of half-time.
Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah marked to bring the Leverkusen level, but it was too little, too late when Freiburg stood to encourage celebrations in Bavaria.

Bayern almost did the job yesterday, but was denied a victory at RB Leipzig by a last minute goal from Yussuf Poulsen in a 3-3 pulseing draw.
Kane missed this match through the suspension, but the captain of England can now reflect on the breakdown of his duck after a stellar career which had not managed to cause silverware.
The former Tottenham striker moved to Bayern in the summer of 2023, but, despite a brilliant first season in Germany at a personal level in which he scored 36 league goals, the club could not keep the national title.
His 24 goals this season have had a positive effect, however, Bayern now eight points ahead of Leverkusen with only two games to play.
