In Adam Sandler‘s Continuation filled with celebrities of his classic golf comedy from 1996 HAPPY GilmoreOne of the most popular characters in the film was killed in a shocking and immediate twist for fans.

The film, which dropped on Netflix on July 25, opens up by showing how the life of the eponymous hockey player who became Golfer had changed since triumphing in the first film and saving the house of his grandmother. In voiceover, Happy (Adam) shares how him and Virginia Venit (Julie Bowen) fell even more madly, married and welcomed four sons and a daughter (played by Adam’s real girl Sunny sandler).

But while the unorthodox pro golf has collected its success, the film shows Happy hitting a wandering bullet that strikes Virginie in the head, killing Julie’s character. Death is happy as a single father of five people, causing his golf retirement.

Despite his character noBefore-Carnat of disappearance in the first four minutes, Julie makes some appearances throughout the film, notably in “Happy Place” by Happy where she encourages her victim to forgive herself for her death.
