“Hacks” and “The Pitt” win the best honors of LGBTQ critics at the Dorian Awards 2025

Season 4 of “Hacks” won Big at the Dorian TV Awards 2025, the 17th annual Galeca awards ceremony: the Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics. In total, the comedy Max featuring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder have won five prizes, by far the largest number in a series.
These victories included the best television comedy, the best LGBTQ television program, the best written television program, the best television performance – Comedy and best support TV performance – Comedy. Smart and Einbinder have won the last two prices, respectively. This has marked the third time that Galeca has named “Hacks” the best television comedy. Einbinder’s victory for the best support television performance has been the second time that the actor has earned honor. In addition, Smart was appointed this year Galeca TV icon, whose previous recipients include Jennifer Coolidge, Christine Baranski and Carol Burnett.
Although “Hacks” has won the most prize this year, three shows this year – “The Pitt” by Max, “Pee -Wee As himself” by HBO and Max and “The Treatrs” by Peacock – all won two prizes each.
On the network side, HBO and Max were the clear winners led by the five victories of “Hacks”. The premium cable giant and the streamer won 11 awards this year, including victories for “The Pitt”, “Pee-Wee as himself”, “Last week with John Oliver” and “Harley Quinn”. Netflix followed with three victories for “adolescence”, “squid game” and “elite”.
“This year Dorian television winners once again prove that queer people have a particularly lively eye for stellar television, using the objective of our culture to raise the most daring, brilliant and happily,” said Diane Anderson-Minshall, Managing Director of Galeca. “Dazzling” hacks “of domination at the historic pioneer of Ncuti Gatwa, we are proud to celebrate a range of talents and narration.”
“The Dorian Awards this year illustrate more than all the depth and the quality of television at the moment, especially with regard to the shows by and for the LGBTQ +people. This year’s winners’ harvest made us laugh, inspired us and delivered some of the most intense and enriching performances of our members,” said Walt Hickey, President of Galeca.
