Guy Ritchie’s Top-Rated TV Series Takes Over Another Streaming Platform

Guy Ritchie is known for making realistic films and dramas. From The Alliance has The Gentlemenhe made his name in action films. Ritchie has also been involved in some television projects, and the one named after him with the highest rating is the British gangster drama. MobLand. He is executive producer and director on Tom Hardy-directed series, which is rated fresh at 76% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. MobLand was originally made for Paramount+, where it has dominated for over four months since the season 1 finale. However, the series is available on other streaming platforms, including SkyShowtime and, most recently, HBO Max. The series has seen major success on HBO Max, particularly in Asia, where it is number one in countries like Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore.

MobLand is set in the criminal underworld of the United Kingdom and follows two warring families: the Harrigans and the Stevensons. The families have been involved in a blood feud for generations, but things come to a head and choices must be made. THE Ronan Bennett-the created series was a success on Paramount+, where it garnered over 26 million views. It features an all-star cast including Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helene Mirren, Paddy Considine (Dragon House), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Da Vinci’s demons), Anson Boon (Gun), Mandeep Dhillon (The Experts: Las Vegas), and much more.

The series has been renewed for season 2, and production is expected to begin imminently, as Froggatt revealed in an interview with MovieWeb. “MobLand It was one of those incredible moments where Chris McCarthy came to us with a vision of creating the next great mafia series, and after driving through the British countryside in a bid to bring in Guy Ritchie, we both realized we knew the exact formula. With the extraordinary talent of Guy, Ronan, Jez [Butterworth] and our incredible cast, we brought this vision to life,” said David C. GlasserCEO of 101 Studios, when announcing the renewal.

What is the status of Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen”?

MobLand isn’t the only crime drama Ritchie is involved in; the television adaptation of his 2019 film The Gentlemen is also preparing to return. THE Theo JamesThe Netflix-led drama recently wrapped production and is expected to premiere sometime in 2026. The season description reveals a time jump and overall arc. It reads:

“It’s been a year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s overseas criminal empire. As they look to expand their business, the decisions Bobby makes seem increasingly unhealthy. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing everything, but unbridled ambition never ends well…”
