Governor Greg Abbot is trying to further Gerrymander Texas while his condition is recovered from some of the deadliest floods in his history.
Wednesday, abbot said State legislators to start the redistribution process while it positions the Republicans to maintain control of the Chamber in 2026. This directive came directly from President Trump, who desperately urged states to find more republican seats under the cover that current cards are “unconstitutional”.
The Abbot directive attracted the anger of the leaders through the State – as well as on a national scale.

The representative of the democratic state, Gina Hinojosa, described this decision as a “blatant partisan power”.
“I have already been disappointed with this governor. But I have never been so completely disgusted,” said Hinojosa. “The governor is so heartless to do it right now?”
At least 120 people were confirmed dead during the sudden floods, and at least 170 are still missing at the time of writing the present. And while the Republicans across the country reprimand democrats, calling for their legitimate questions Around emergency intervention an attempt to “politicize” the situation, the governor himself is more concerned with politics as usual.
