Google unveiled on Wednesday a new range of pixel smartphones injected from another dose of artificial intelligence designed to do everything, recovery of vital information stored on devices to help improve photos when taken.
The expansion of AI on models of four pixels 10 amplifies Google’s efforts to expand the use of a technology that is already starting to reshape the company. At the same time, Google slides on the Apple Achilles heel on the iPhone.
Until now, Apple has been able to introduce some basic AI features on the iPhone while not bringing the promise of last year to deliver a more conversational and versatile version of its often bombed virtual assistant Siri.
Without mentioning the iPhone by name, Google has already made fun of Apple’s missteps in online advertisements promoting the four new pixel models while smartphones loaded with AI technology that consumers will not have to wait more than a year to arrive.
Google, on the other hand, has regularly increased the amount of AI that it has started to set up on its pixels since 2023, the models of this year winning it on another level.
By taking advantage of a more advanced processor, Google presents a new AI functionality on Pixel 10 phones called “Magic Cue” designed to serve as a digital spirit which automatically recovers the information stored on the devices and displays the data at the time when it is necessary. For example, if a Pixel 10 user calls an airline, Magic Cue is supposed to instantly recognize the phone number and display flight information if it is in Gmail or a Google calendar.
Pixel 10 phones will also be delivered with an overview of a new AI tool called “Camera Coach” which will automatically suggest the best framing and lighting angle because the objective is intended for a subject. Camera Coach will also recommend the best lens mode to use for an optimal image.
Premium models – Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 PRO XL – will also include a “Super Res” option that deploys a software and tip transfer bag for zooming up to 100 times the resolution to capture the details of the objects located for kilometers from the camera. The AI magistracy could occur without users even realizing that it happens, which makes it even more difficult to know if an image captured in a photo reflects how things really looked at when a photo has been taken or has been modified by technology.

Prices on the four models of pixel 10 will remain unchanged from the Pixel 9 generation last year, with the base from $ 800 and the pro selling for $ 1,000, the Pro XL at $ 1,200 and a foldable version at $ 1,800. All pixels 10 expect the foldable model to be in stores on August 28. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be available from October 9.
Although the Pixel smartphone remains a Lilliputian alongside the Gulliverian stature of the iPhone and the Galaxy models of Samsung, the progress in Google in the AI while holding the line on its renowned devices increase the competitive issues.
“In the AI era, this is a real innovation laboratory,” said Thomas Husson, Forrester Research analyst, about the Pixel.
Apple, in particular, will face more pressure than usual when it will introduce the new generation iPhone next month. Although the company has already declared that smarter Siri would not be ready before next year at the earliest, Apple will always have to show progress in AI to demonstrate that the iPhone adapts to the evolution of the AI of technology rather than bowing towards progressive obsolescence.
