Goodpath rakes in $ 18 million for the chronic condition platform

Goodpath, a virtual supplier for chronic conditions, has raised $ 18 million in series A financing, which he uses to extend his scope and accelerate the development of AI, the company announced on Thursday.
When people fight a chronic illness, they often have several other health problems associated with this problem. For example, those who have back pain can also face bad sleep or stress and anxiety.
Goodpath, based in Boston, addresses this by dealing with several conditions under a single platform, including musculoskeletal conditions, weight management, diabetes, digestive health, sleep, mental health and cancer survival. The company, which serves employers, offers multidisciplinary care, which means a collaborative approach in which suppliers of different specialties work together to treat the patient. He takes advantage of AI to create a personalized care plan. He also provides a dedicated health coach, speech therapy and digital resources such as exercise videos and educational material.
“We are approaching the problem of fragmentation,” said Bill Gianoukos, CEO and co-founder of Goodpath, in an email. “Too many patients bounce between outstanding solutions disconnected or specialists who only deal with their health. We have taken the integrative care model which is traditionally only available for high value individuals, and made affordable and scalable using technology and AI. ”
The series A series of Goodpath was led by Massmutual Ventures and included the participation of Healthy Ventures. In total, the company raised $ 22 million.
“Chronic and mental health problems explain the vast majority of American health care costs, and yet the way care is given. We believe that the next generation of category leaders will be those that deliver this combination of scale, precision and impact on measurable costs in a single model. “What excites us about Goodpath is that it already demonstrates this combination: a high commitment in large populations, a predictive use of data and results that appear directly in the affirmations.”
Funding will be used to develop in new categories of states and advance its IA engine, “making AI personalization focused on AI to create even more dynamic care programs adapted to health history, the unique behavior and needs of each member,” said Gianoukos. In addition, Goodpath is investing in its pharmaceutical infrastructure to give access to GLP-1.
Currently, chronic condition care is extremely fragmented. Those who fight against mental health, musculoskeletal conditions or cancer often should see several specialists who are not connected to each other, which leads to higher costs for patients and employers. This is what Goodpath finally hopes to solve.
“Our objective is to make Goodpath the standard model for the management of chronic conditions and to increase access to integrative care so that anyone can access this quality of medicine,” said Gianoukos. “We are actively expanding into the partnerships of payers to develop what we have done for large employers. In the long term, we want each payer of the country to recognize Goodpath as an approved, efficient and economical processing course. ”
