Liverpool in pole position to sign a “superstar” for 87 million pounds sterling

Liverpool entered his pre-season confrontation with Milan full of optimism.
They probably had the best transfer window of any team this summer, namely to sign Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Arne Slot’s team seems ready to pack a firmer punch even than they did during their winning Premier League campaign and things could improve.
Indeed, the Reds are the favorites to land Alexander Isak after the Swedish did the hierarchy in Newcastle that he would like to explore an outing this summer.
This positivity, however, was not enough to bring them to a victory against Milan who beat the 4-2 team of slot.
Work to do then, largely in the back where the options seem sparse for Liverpool. However, they seem to have the intention of taking measures to add more to the front line.
Who could replace Nunez and Diaz in Liverpool
All Liverpool movements finished between now and the end of summer are likely to depend on what happens to Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
It was largely expected that the first takes his leave, but where he ends up feeling a little uncertain at the moment. As for Diaz, his future will be in Munich with Bayern who agreed to sign the Colombian winger for an amount of around 65 million pounds sterling.
If Nunez leave alongside Diaz, then the Reds could draw their attention to a record offer for Isak.
However, with Ekitike already by the door, signing an out -of -itwished replacement for Diaz would have much more sense.
This is where Liverpool’s broad options enter the equation. Another Toon star in the form of Anthony Gordon has been linked but it seems unlikely.
What is more likely is to conclude an agreement for the Real Madrid Roddrygo winger. It is according to reports in Spain.
A few weeks ago, noted that Liverpool had started talks to sign the Brazilian and now they would run the race to sign it.
It is alleged that Arsenal is now out of the race for the Madrid star, which makes the favorites of the firms Reds. That said, they will have to sell to find a movement for a player valued at around 87 million pounds sterling.
It is certainly a lot of money, but for a player compared to Wirtz, it is easy to see why they cast their eyes towards the 24 -year -old.
How Rodrygo compares himself to Florian Wirtz
Described as the “best midfielder in the world” by the former Leverkusen striker Patrick Helmes, it was a coup to bring Wirtz to Anfield this summer.
Many believe that the classic number 10 has died, but in Wirtz, you feel that Liverpool signed the heir to the throne of Kevin de Bruyne.
He is a creative machine, having helped 15 goals last season, but he is also more than competent in front of the goal, scoring 16 times in all competitions.
Not just able to play in the middle, Wirtz also found a house in large areas, just like Rodrygo.
The Brazilian is not really a number 10, however, like Wirtz, he played like a false 9 and largely. Its statistical data is also very similar.
Indeed, according to FBREF, the German is the seventh midfielder attack and winger most similar to Rodrygo in the top five leagues in Europe in the past year. Here is why.

Although Wirtz’s production is supremely better – Rodrygo marked 14 and helped 11 in all completions – their data was comparable in other areas.
Looking at the figures, it was actually the real winger who improved Wirtz for key passes by 90 minutes, but only marginally.
In the dribble service, their ability to manipulate the ball in tight areas and advance beyond the defense is strange.
They are dazzling with possession at their feet, which is saved by the fact that they both have an average of more than five progressive litters per 90.
A postponement is considered to be progressive if the ball is moved towards the objective of the opponent at least 10 meters from its starting point or is transported to the penalty zone.
The teammates clearly recognize that because they receive an identical number of progressive passes, highlighting their ability to receive the ball between the lines where they can have an impact on the procedure in the last third party.
While Rodrygo had 17 goalless games at a stadium in 2024/25, his ability is obvious and if you are a player who wins comparisons with Wirtz, it is clear that you are a very talented footballer. After all, he is a “world class superstar” in the words of Luka Modric.
For Liverpool, it would be a big decision if Diaz leaves.
