The next episode of NCIS: Origins arrives tonight on CBS, but Collider is here to make sure fans don’t have to wait as long as expected. We are thrilled to partner with the network and Paramount to exclusively preview a new overview of NCIS: Origins Season 2, episode 7titled “The Edge”. In the new preview, which can be found below, a DC Headquarters liaison with a mysterious connection to Gibbs arrives at Camp Pendleton with a special mission. The new episode airs on CBS tonight at 9 p.m. EST and begins streaming on Paramount+ tomorrow for all premium subscribers.
NCIS fans have already seen Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) experience quite an adventure during the first two episodes of season 2. In the first episode, broadcast on October 14, Gibbs and Franks (Kyle Schmid) investigate the disappearance of a young Marine linked to a mysterious complex with a charismatic leader. Fans also learned that Lala survived the accident at the end of the season 1 finaleand she’s back on the team. Episode 2 follows the team as they investigate a body washed up on the beach and must decide whether it was an accident or murder.
Although there was certainly some skepticism towards NCIS: Origins when it was first announced, it’s fair to say that the series has become a huge hit since its premiere last year. Stowell proved to be a perfect young Gibbs, and the show assembled an impressive ensemble over the course of two solid seasons. Things are just getting started for what fans hope will be a long journey for Gibbs early in his career.
Will there be a season 3 of “NCIS: Origins”?
Paramount and CBS have not yet decided the fate of NCIS: Origins and announce if there will be a third season or if the series will be canceled. However, it would certainly be surprising if the network ceased operations after such a short period of time, especially considering NCIS is something of a flagship property for CBS. The first two episodes of season 2 prove that the series has found its rhythm and built on its prequel identity. Fans love it NCIS: Origins Season 2 so far, and it would be a blow to see it end so soon.
Check out the new preview on NCIS: Origins Season 2, Episode 3 above and tune in to CBS Tonight to watch it all. You can watch the first two episodes of season 2 on Paramount+.
