By speaking with THISFazekas dismantled the thrilling idea… that Cipher isn’t really Cipher. He’s a guy named Doug who has been used as a vehicle for Thomas Godolkin’s powers for years. Fazekas explained how the show implied that Cipher didn’t care about his body. Check out his comments below:

“We present little clues that, if you look back, you can see. Even the fact that – why is this guy just drinking disgusting shakes with chicken and stuff in them? It’s because he doesn’t taste anything. He doesn’t care about that body. He’s just trying to maintain it to reach the end goal.”

“We were afraid that everyone would guess it. I think some people will guess it. I don’t know if it’s possible to guess that it’s actually the same person, that this guy is just some random guy. He’s basically just a body that [Godolkin’s] try.”
