Game status | Jayden Daniels excluded the 2nd week against Falcons
Washington commanders have led the quarter-Arrière Jayden Daniels for the second consecutive week, which means that Marcus Mariota safeguard will start against the Falcons of Atlanta.
Daniels, who has been faced with a knee injury since the week 2 match against Green Bay packers, returned to train in limited capacity this week. He was seen working through individual exercises on Wednesday and Thursday, but was not on the ground during the part of Friday practice open to the media.
Daniels declared on the podium that he felt “good”, and the head coach Dan Quinn said that Daniels had worked “very hard” to be quite healthy for a return to the field. However, medical staff have not seen enough to fully erase the quarter-arre for contact.
Mariota performed well in place of Daniels against Las Vegas raiders in week 3, representing 247 yards in total and two affected in a 41-24 victory. The team has been confident in Mariota throughout the week before the match, and this faith did not hesitate in the past few days. He will return to the Mercedes-Benz stadium, where he was the quarter-Arrière starting from the Falcons for most of the 2022 season.
Commanders will also be without two of their best receivers, because Terry McLaurin (Quad) and Noah Brown (groin) have also been excluded. McLaurin injured himself by diving for a touch against the raiders. McLaurin was listed as questionable for the rest of the game and has not returned. He did not practice all week and was not seen on the field on Friday. Brown is still faced with the same injury that embarrassed him leading to the Raiders match.
The absences of McLaurin and Brown mean that the commanders will have to turn to other options in the passage game. Luke McCaffrey marked the first hit in his career last week against the Raiders and finished second in the team with three receptions for 56 yards. Veteran Chris Moore has successfully completed two catches for 25 yards, but also had a 34 yards van against New York Giants. Jaylin Lane, the main option to return the team’s clearance of the team, has three receptions for 11 yards in eight targets, but the team has confidence that it can be a more versatile weapon in the offense.
There are also the three players of the Washington – Tay Martin, Jacoby Jones and Jescorey Brooks training team – who could be raised to the alignment of Gameday.
Commanders will also be without a tight winger John Bates for a second consecutive week. Percy Butler, who provided depth in secondary in addition to the value of the special teams, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who was confronted with a knee injury, is questionable for the Sunday match.
