Lang, the winner of Open Women 2016, played a total of five Solheim Cup events herself: 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Stanford was part of all these teams with his backup for 2017.
As indicated, the United States defends the winners of the Solheim Cup, but gaining enemy territory is a different question and which will require all the help that Americans can obtain. This is apparently there that Lang comes into play.
“I am beyond Honoré and excited to be invited to be an assistant captain of the US Solheim Cup team in 2026. I played a lot of Solheim cups with Angela, Kristy and Paula, and I am delighted to work alongside her to lead the American team to victory in the Netherlands next September.”
…
“This is probably one of the highest honors I have had in my career. I am delighted to learn, help and discover the atmosphere as an assistant captain. ”
The groups that Lang, Stanford, McPherson and Creamer were part of Together were among the most successful in the history of the Solheim Cup from an American perspective.
Here is for them to channel what made their teams Super next year with the 2026 team.
