Ga Special Election advances in runoff while the Democrat tries to return the headquarters of the State Senate

While the Republican voters were divided between Dickerson and West on Tuesday while the Democrats have lagged behind their candidate, the president of the Republican Party of Georgia, Josh McKoon, said that republican support would be consolidated behind Dickerson during the runoff.

“It’s really dangerous to read a lot about a special election,” he told Georgia recorder. “This is an election that takes place in the middle of summer. People come back from the summer vacation. People do not know there is an election. They are not used to voting at this time of year. ”

The president of the Georgia Democratic Party, Charlie Bailey, seemed optimistic that Shigley could transport the Democrats to return the red seat.

“Debra was the best vote-object in a deep red district against a six-republican area-a will not only for the solid leadership of Debra and the daring vision of the Senate district 21, but of the creation of undeniable democratic momentum through our state,” he said in a press release. “Now it’s time to carry this momentum in runoff.”
