Fuma ad arrested, accused of having stolen $ 24,000 in former employment

Florida sports director A & M Angela Suggs was arrested on Monday for two crime counts linked to the implementation of $ 24,000 in personal expenses on a business credit card with her previous job.
Suggs, 55, is accused of large flight and fraud scheme, as well as four heads of crime of false complaints on travel vouchers. She went to the authorities on Monday at the Leon County detention center (Florida).
Suggs filed a deposit of $ 13,500 and was released on Monday afternoon.
Florida A & M hired Suggs as a new sports director on a $ 750,000 contract over three years only nine months ago.
“Although the question is not linked to her features as an employee of the FAMU, we monitor the situation and respond to the future, if applicable,” said the acting president of the FAMU, Timothy Beard, in a press release.
Before the FAMU, Suggs worked as president and chief executive officer of Florida Sports Foundation (FSF). An investigation began in November 2024 following an audit of Suggs commercial credit card purchases, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
“The survey revealed that Suggs had abused its credit card issued by the FSF to make metallic transfers and cash withdrawals and personal purchases in casinos during business trips, totaling more than $ 24,000,” said Florida Department of Law Enforcement in a press release. “She then falsified travel vouchers, coding unauthorized loads as a meal.
“When they were asked for unauthorized charges, Suggs said that some were intended for business meals and others were accidentally charged on the business card. She failed to reimburse completely (the foundation) for her personal expenses.”
