“I keep remembering things that are gone… It makes me feel like there are things we lost that I’ll never remember…” Bleecker Street has released the stunning official trailer for a film titled Reconstructionone of the best films at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. This is the second feature film set in Colorado from filmmaker Max Walker-Silverman – who also directed A love song in 2022 (trailer here). After wildfires destroy his ranch, a cowboy named Dusty ends up in a FEMA camp, finding community with others who have lost their homes, including his daughter and ex-wife. A gently humanist history of the American West. Filmed against the ravishing backdrop of southern Colorado, Rebuilding is a meditative and moving portrait of resilience and human connection in the wake of loss. This wholesome film features Josh O’Connor like Dusty, Meghann Fahy, Amy Madigan, Kali Reis, Lily LaTorre, Nancy Morlan& Zeilyanna Martinez. This is a true gem – I hope audiences take the time to watch, appreciate and ultimately be moved by this excellent little independent film.

Rebuilding follows Dusty (Josh O’Connor), a reserved and divorced father whose ranch burned in a devastating wildfire. Now living in a trailer community on a government-run campground, Dusty finds comfort in his new neighbors who have also lost everything, quietly pieces his life back together, and begins to reconnect with his ex-wife Ruby (Meghann Fahy) and young daughter Callie-Rose (Lily LaTorre).
