Did Trump bring peace to Gaza? End the war and the cycle of killings that have lasted for two years now? A number of TPM readers have asked me for different versions of this. And within these questions lies an underlying current, sometimes more or less explicit, like “does this malicious clown really get the credit?” » I wanted to answer this question. And my answer is that this may be the first time that Trump’s frequent and degenerate boasts — Only I can do it – has a very real element of truth.
I don’t think Trump spent a lot of energy on this and I don’t think he really cares about the people on either side of the conflict. Remember that a few months ago he supported a project aimed at “voluntarily” depopulating Gaza and turning it into a series of Mediterranean seaside resorts, a sort of Monaco 150 times larger.
