The second trailer for Guillermo Del Toro “Frankenstein” fell (see above). While the first trailer focused more on Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac), he swivel his creation (Jacob Elordi), who tells the promotion.

“My manufacturer told his story, and I’m going to say it,” said the creature in a deep and trembling voice. “If you don’t want to award me from love, then I’m going to give myself up to rage.”

The promotional material of the film kept the creature in Shadow, his face and presents hidden under a hood and a coat in tatters. Why, you might ask, is it worth it to be secret on such a famous story? This Frankenstein monster not Have the classic Look of Boris Karloff, for example, no metal stems that came out of his neck.

In Mary Shelley’s original novel, The Creature is an intelligent and articulated being; Del Toro honors this characterization, as well as the way in which Shelley’s prose suggests that the creature appears. This new trailer ends with the creature that removes its mask, but his face is still barely visible under a deep shadow. The impatient does not need to worry, however, because Entertainment Weekly shared a press photo giving the creature its close -up. (See below for the full image.)

Elordi, who was a late replacement for Andrew Garfield, seems completely unrecognizable. His performance was also praised as the best part of the film, so he clearly left the makeup to enter him.

The appearance of the creature affirms the loyalty of Del Toro to Frankenstein

In “Frankenstein”, after Victor gave life to the creature and then fled from his apartment, he describes the strange appearance of his creation and his disappointment with her.

“I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! Great God! His yellow skin barely covered the work of the muscles and arteries below; his hair was brilliant, and flowing; his teeth with a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances formed only a more horrible contrast with his aqueous eyes, which almost seemed the same complexion of black and color.

Not all the details are represented in the film, but the general impression is the same. The flowing black hair is visible inside the creature hood. The gray skin of the creature does not cover half of his face and a large part of his chest. However, the other side of his face shows the beauty that Victor wanted. The complexion of the creature makes it appear not only ghostly, but like a cracked marble statue (or even Prince Nuada by Luke Goss of “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” by Del Toro).

Compare this to the previous simple adaptation of Kenneth Branagh of the novel “Frankenstein” by Shelley, where the creature (Robert de Niro) had a flesh in tones of skin but a face mutilated by seams, scars and a bald head.

The trailer shows the inhuman strength of the creature; He raises his shoulders with several shots of the rifle and alone rocks a ship trapped in Arctic ice. However, this also teases the sad parties of the history of the creature that fans of books will recognize, like his failed friendship with a blind (David Bradley). In “Frankenstein”, Del Toro twisted Dr. Frankenstein simply above his head in a more malicious man. As the conception of the creature shows, the filmmaker has also been able to find more hidden beauty in the character that many call a monster.

“Frankenstein” will start a limited theatrical release on October 17, 2025, before making his debut on Netflix on November 7.
