Results of special elections: Jackson County Director Frank White, heading to defeat

Beginning to maintain the chiefs and the Royals in the county of Jackson? Well, you recommend them to go to Kansas, so I don’t know if it’s a good strategy or not. There is never a dull time in the exchanges of the Jackson County Legislative Assembly with the legislators and the Director of the Comté, Frank White, was heated last year on a certain number of subjects. He is sure to say that they have a tense relationship. He came to the point where White no longer goes to weekly meetings. He sends his staff now. I asked him before his reminder election, how this dynamic works and what he would do to change it if he remains as director of the county. One of the other main criticisms that we have heard from voters is your remarkable absence during the County legislature meetings. I know you heard about it. You have been 1 or 2 this year, I think. Why then? Well, Cody, first of all, I think people do great things from anything. I don’t have to go to these meetings. I don’t have to attend meetings. Our structure is not implemented so that I can attend these meetings. I go if I have an interest in seeing something or if I mean something positive that happens in the county. But our system is put in place as the public system, where the governor, the legislator. I have no vote. So when I enter these meetings and I have no vote during these meetings, it becomes a political attack for the political points of some legislators. Isn’t it important to be part of the conversation during these meetings? We are always part of the conversation. I mean, we have individuals I spoke to the legislators when they have programs they want to speak. I mean, I’m just in front of the aisle. We meet every Monday to review the agenda so that we know what is on the agenda and we make sure that my chief of staff, my administrative director during these meetings to answer their questions, I have always been available. I am at work every day, and as I say, when they have something to say, I work with them. You publicly said that you don’t think that many had done the legislature in the past two and a half years. If voters allow you to keep your job, how to repair the fences with the members of the legislative assembly to try to move the business of the county? Well, Cody is my hope since everyone must run next year, I am hope that legislators, politicians are like anyone when they present themselves to their functions. Then the voter would ask you, what did you do? So they want to be able to say, I did that, I did that. And I think it is the only thing that I hope that since I am not, I do not plan to run again. It will therefore free me to do everything they think they want to do, because we have a lot of infrastructure projects that we have to do. We have, I think, around 40 million dollars in federal funds. We have to go out. I put a DP of $ 30 million for disadvantaged communities. So there are things we can do together that can improve the county. And then you have legislators who want to do things. But what is holding you back at the moment? Let’s look back. There are the five voices. The five votes on the Legislative Assembly. It is the majority. And they vote in block. And it’s a bit difficult to do. Penetrate that when the intention is on, on the dysfunction. And so we have four legislators who really want to do something. And you have the five that hold things up. And even they don’t talk to each other. It is therefore difficult to break this when you have external interests playing a big role in the way they vote and how they move. So I hope that once the elections finished and if I succeed, then we can say, okay, it will be another year here. Let’s be this thing, let’s go, let’s go, let’s be re-elected. NEVER MIND. Whoever wants to be re -elected and from there. You said that no matter what’s going on on Tuesday and you said to yourself, you don’t run for re -election. But then you hinted at the race for the elections again, so that you probably did not do it. SO. So what is it? What is your plan? There is a good chance. No, I don’t see our good luck. I don’t see myself running. No, it’s time, you know? It’s time to complete my mandate. It’s time to move on and enjoy the rest of my life. I know that you have also fought against petitions in court, the recall elections at the county level. Will you respect the result of this election? Well, the planning process, you know, you have to ask these questions. You know, when you have voting bulletins that are collected over two years, you must wonder that when you have people outside the city outside to collect these signatures of a ballot of voting, you must question these things. So, if you don’t question these things, I mean, you accept everything that someone throws you without even knowing what’s going on. So, the vote, the voters always speak the strongest. And I respect the people’s vote, and you will respect the outcome of this election. The voters, say the voters, I have finished. I FINISHED. I mean, I mean, I mean, I cannot say that the courts could come to say something on the road that I cannot do. I can’t say anything about it. But, you know, the voters always speak stronger. It is all the respect. I think that the voter the only way to overthrow a vote of the people is by a vote of the people. And that’s how I look at him. Early words before election day? NO. I just want people to go out and vote. I think they I think the question they have to ask is, I have been here for 11 years. I was re -elected twice. And I really believe that there is a big factor of trust in voters, in my ability to do the work, mainly because I just have not been afraid to make difficult decisions. I was not as political as I did not make the right decision at the right time. The stadium voting decision was the right decision because I stand between people and the bad decisions that will affect them. And so if I have to make the difficult call, I will do it. I did it during COVID, you know, to pass our county to COVID was not an easy process. And there was a lot of political policy, a lot of politics that had to face it, mask mandates to all other things. So you reject these things and, and because, because. You are like you had the compartmentalization of things. This is to say, okay, simultaneous, it is not a political problem, it is a health problem. And then you just try to use common sense in the best possible way to get through it. But but I am not the most political person in the world, but I, but I am a very common guy and I know how to make the right decisions at the right time because I have a lot of family in town and, and the things that the decisions I make, I always think of my family first because I know they will be assigned because I have them all the extremities. And, and therefore, you must therefore do what is in the best interest of the people. You are not going to please everyone. You will not get 100% of the votes. And this percentage, you never get it, they never support what you do anyway. So I focus on the majority. And helping the majority, I will help these people. At t
