According to Givemesport, Nottingham Forest has now joined the race to sign Richard Rios de Palmeiras this summer. The Midlands Club would have sent representatives to watch the Colombian midfielder in action at the Club World Cup while he was playing to help his team in a 0-0 draw against Porto.
An agreement to sign the talented South American will not be cheap, however, in the midst of the reports that Rios has a liberation clause worth 85 million pounds sterling in his current contract in Palmeiras. Whether the forest is ready or even able to pay such a price is the big question and the competition of Manchester United will certainly not help their pursuit.
Praised for his “relentless work rate” by the scout U23 Antonio Mango, Rios will be one to look this summer both at the Club World Cup and potentially beyond if he ends a move in the Premier League.
