FIRST ON FOX — Federal authorities say they thwarted a credible terrorist threat over the weekend, arresting four suspected members of a pro-Palestinian radical extremist group accused of planning coordinated bombings on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles.

The FBI told Fox News Digital that the members identified themselves as part of a radical branch of the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), an extremist group motivated by a pro-Palestinian, anti-law enforcement, and anti-government ideology.

According to the FBI, they planned coordinated bombings on New Year’s Eve using improvised explosive devices, targeting five separate locations in Los Angeles.

The agency said the four men were arrested in the Lucerne Valley, where they were preparing to test explosive devices ahead of the planned attacks. They were each charged with conspiracy and possession of a destructive device.

The FBI said Monday that a fifth individual believed to be linked to the same TILF extremist group was arrested in New Orleans for allegedly planning a separate attack.

A TILF Instagram account said its founding chapter is in Los Angeles and its goal is to liberate “Turtle Island,” an indigenous name used for North America, from “the illegal American empire.”

“Liberate Palestine. Liberate Hawaii. Liberate Puerto Rico,” the account reads. “Liberating the world from American imperialism is the only path to a secure and peaceful future,” he continues.

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted on X that the Justice Department worked with the FBI to prevent the alleged terrorist plot in the Central District of California.

She said TILF also plans to target U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and vehicles.
