Four bodies, including two children, discovered in San Francisco home along Monterey Boulevard, authorities say

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A coroner’s truck was surrounded by white sheets as authorities worked late into the night to remove the bodies of the four deceased people found in this San Francisco home Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after police confirmed the horrific discovery, those who showed up at the scene cried.

Police have called the deaths suspicious and a “criminal action,” but it appears to be an isolated incident and there is no general threat to the public.

Officers say two of the four people found dead are children. The neighbors we spoke with are heartbroken.

“I was just coming home from school and I heard it from my mom and I just – you know, my heart broke,” said Teo Brouwers, who lives next door.

“I don’t have the words at the moment, I’m a little in shock. We are in shock, it’s a tragedy and we are thinking of the family. We are processing the information at the moment,” said Belinda Hanart.

Hanart and his family live next to the house where the bodies were found, not far from City College of San Francisco.

She says she hasn’t noticed anything unusual in recent days. Officers found the bodies after responding to a call for a welfare check.

“Our bedroom is on their side, and we have two dogs so. There was no noise, nothing, and I think that was the most disturbing part, we didn’t hear anything. Nothing. We knew it was a family of four with two girls. The oldest was probably 12 or 13 and a dog, and it was a very normal family with a normal family routine,” Hanart said.

Police are still not saying what happened but confirm that crimes were committed inside the home. They also say there is no threat to the community.

Investigators were asked if an attacker or assailant could have been one of the four dead found in the home.

“It’s a possibility. We’re not confirming any of that at this time, but it’s a possibility for this incident,” said Officer Robert Rueca with the San Francisco Police Department.

“We heard them more than we saw them and it was just normal family life, like kids in the garden trying to get the dog in and having a barbecue on summer nights, that’s all, just like us.” Hanart said.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
