Former Patriot Damien Woody sounds alarm for Josh Allen’s Bills after getting his butt ‘screamed’ against Dolphins as Drake Maye leads AFC East

Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills suffered a 30-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Former New England safety Damien Woody believes the Bills have squandered their six-year dominance of the AFC East, while the Drake Maye-led Patriots are legitimate contenders in the division.

Woody shared his views on the AFC East situation on Monday.

“They royally ruined their window,” Woody said via “Get Up.” “They’ve locked down the AFC East for six years. They’ve got nothing to show. And guess what? Here’s the Patriots. They’re back. And so you look at Josh Allen, you watch that game yesterday, you know you heard the whispers. Oh, it was the Miami Dolphins.

“It’s not a trap game. I’m sorry, Buffalo, you don’t even lead the division, and it’s a division game. You got your butt kicked against the Miami Dolphins that we wrote off, Dead to Rights. It’s not a bad game. It’s a bad sign for Buffalo.”

Despite winning the division five straight seasons, Buffalo failed to win the Super Bowl or reach the championship game during Allen’s tenure.

The Dolphins entered Sunday’s game as one of the weaker teams this season, but they dominated the Bills. De’Von Achane threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns, while Tua Tagovailoa threw for two touchdowns in the 30-13 victory.

Can Josh Allen lead the Bills to the AFC East title?

THE Drake Maye and Co. took control of the AFC East after Week 10.

The New England Patriots (8-2) lead by 1.5 games and have a 47.2% chance of winning the division. The likely decision will come Dec. 14, when the Patriots host the Buffalo Bills. New England holds the tiebreaker after its Week 5 win, so another win could clinch the AFC East.

Josh Allen struggled with turnovers and inconsistency during Buffalo’s 30-13 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He threw an interception in the end zone, fumbled in the fourth quarter and struggled to maintain offensive momentum. The Bills managed only three first downs in three quarters.

The Patriots’ remaining schedule includes matchups against Tampa Bay, Houston, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New England, Cleveland and Philadelphia. Only the Texans do not lead their division.

Meanwhile, New England will face Tennessee, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, New York and Buffalo.
