Former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has almost played rugby

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey had a great career decision to take as a teenager he had to choose between a career in football or rugby.
The Great Great, now 34 years old and with the Mexican club Pumas Unam, were in fact a very accomplished rugby player, and it seems that he had strongly planned to continue this instead of becoming a footballer.
He will surely be happy to have made the choice he made, after having had a great career at the highest level, with 64 goals and five trophies in 369 appearances for Arsenal.
Ramsey also played for Juventus, winning Serie A, and won 86 caps for the Welsh national team, representing his country at two European championships and winning the captain once Gareth Bale retired.

Addressing the Daily Mail a few years ago, Ramsey spoke of his time playing rugby and how he also influenced his style of play in football.
“I like to think that I would have done it if I had chosen rugby,” said Ramsey.
“I started playing the rugby league as well as Union. I switched between half-flies and the wing, but I preferred to play half the fly. I liked to be at the heart of everything. I liked to be involved.
“I was a good player in a rugby match. I could also kick. Playing football obviously helped me hit a ball, and I enjoyed the physical side. I think it helped me overcome my injury problems, but on the rugby field, I liked things. ”

Ramsey was clearly a passionate rugby player, and he is not the only footballer to have tried other sports.
