Ford recalls more than a million vehicles in the United States, the NHTSA says

Ford engine Recalls 1,075,299 vehicles in the United States on a problem that could prevent the Image Rearior Shark-Plan camera, increasing the risk of an accident, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Wednesday.
The recall affects certain vehicles among the 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, EDGE and 2023-2024 Escape, Corsair, F-25, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600, said the American automotive security regulator.
The recall also has an impact on the shipment 2022-2024, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, Lincoln Nautilus, 2024 Ranger, Mustang and the navigator 2022-2024.
The NHTSA said that a software error can lead to the delay in the image of the reversing camera, to freeze or not to display.
The concessionaires should update the software of the interface module of the accessory protocol (APIM) via a live update, free, added the agency.
APIM software serves as a operating system for the car dashboard, helping its infotainment system to control applications and display cards, among others.
Letters warning the owners of the security risk should be posted by June 16. A second letter will be sent once the appeal is available, scheduled for the third quarter of 2025, according to the NHTSA.
