Sophomore Corner PJ Woodland also flashed with five plated and a break in passes, adding to an LSU secondary which seemed terribly polite for week 1. The second West Weeks also collected five plated.
“This did not happen overnight,” Kelly said for defensive improvements. “It started in January. This is the discipline we have in the program. Our guys bought it and he continued on the ground. These guys really trusted what we told them. ”
Offensively, the Tigers were led by the Senior Senior of the Fifth Year Garrett Nussmeier, who finished with 230 yards and one of 28 against 38. Aaron Anderson led all the receivers with six catches for 99 yards. The Ballon carrier Caden Durham posted 74 yards and a score on 17 races, with an average of 4.4 yards per contact. The tight end Trey’dez Green marked the victorious touch in the fourth quarter.
“It’s an electric playmaker,” said Kelly about Anderson, who led the team in the reception. “It would tell you that there is more there (to work). When the lights light up, it is a different guy. I like its maturity and the growth it shows.”
Louisiana Tech is led by the quarter-Arrière Trey Kukuk, who succeeded 130 yards and a hit on Saturday during the Bulldogs victory over the Southeast. During the ball carrier, Clay Thevenin led the team with 61 yards in six races for a touchdown, with an average of 10.2 yards per touch.
Defensively, the Bulldogs are led by the second Kolbe Fields, who finished with 13 plated at the top of the team and a bag. The Sifa Leota secondary was just behind with 12 plated and a pass break while Mekhi Mason finished with nine plated, two bags and a PBU.
“He is a nameless and faceless opponent every week,” said second West Weeks. “If we go out and play team n ° 1 in the country or go out and play anyone, it’s a 1-0 state of mind.”
He is early, but coach Kelly sees a confident group who trusts their work and their preparation. There is no doubt that on Saturday, while the tigers return home to the university football cathedral, it will be a group full of energy and passion.
