Five things to know: Uswnt against Jamaica

After lowering China Pr, 3-0, on May 31 at Minnesota, the USWNT faces Jamaica on June 3 to finish the set of two games at this FIFA window. The match starts at Enerrizer Park in St. Louis, Mo. has 7 p.m. ct / 8 a.m. (TNT, Max, Universo and Peacock in Spanish and Westwood One Sports on the radio).
These matches serve another chance for the USWNT head coach, Emma Hayes, and her staff to continue to assess the players’ swimming pool before the largest world sports event in 2027 when the FIFA Women’s World Cup arrives in Brazil.
Here is what you need to know before watching the United States faces Jamaica:
1. Catarina Macario on a rating tear
Catarina striker Macario has marked lights in the last three international windows since his return from injury. A tear ACL removed Macario from the USWNT for two years, but it came out hot for the United States.
However, that did not prevent Macario from wanting even more of its performance.
“Cat, she was hard with herself,” said Hayes. “I mean, she got a goal and her full game was good. She wanted it to a higher level and it’s okay. She can suck there, but she is a wonderful football player and we are blessed to have it.”
Macario, was tilted as No. 9, marked and attended 3-0 victory against China Pr. It was Macario’s third goal in 2025, making her the top scorer of the USWNT year.
2. Becky Sauerbrunn Honoré
The legendary Centerback Becky Sauerbrunn will be honored before kick -off in his hometown. Sauerbrunn retired at the end of 2024 after a 16 -year -old career, which included two FIFA Women’s World Cup championships and an Olympic gold medal in 2012.
The impact of Sauerbrunn on the ethics of the USWNT lasted, even if the defender has not played for the national team since February 2024. Midfielder Lindsey Horan, faced with decision -making, often wonders: “What would Becky do?”
It is a heritage that a calm leader like Sauerbrunn, a self-written “player player”, hoped to leave behind.
“I can say that without hesitation, I have a locker room – not only senior players – but the less experienced players who speak of Becky in the highest esteem, both as a leader and as a human being,” said Hayes. “I don’t think you can want something more than that in life, and people talk about you like that.”
In addition to the pre-match ceremony in honor of Sauerbrunn, the first 2,000 fans of Energizer Park will obtain a free Bobblehead celebrating one of the best defenders of all time in the United States.
3. Development continues to rise
The vision of Hayes was clear – continue to develop the pool of USWNT players from young players to pillars.
Thus, while the staff are on the right track to decide on the main group of players in the United States who will represent the team of World Cups and Olympic Games, she called young lists in 2025, allowing players to obtain an exhibition and an international experience.
Although it has challenges, Hayes has preached patience and it is now starting to give results. In the fourth camp of the year, young players like Lily Yohannes (17) and Claire Hutton (19), to name only a few, have shown well.
“When you try to bring together so many new players, as a coach, you want to make sure that each time you are with them, you bring less and less tactical corrections,” said Hayes. “This week, we did less than what we have ever had to do.”
4. Uswnt against Jamaica History
It is only the sixth time that the United States national female team will face Jamaica. The Americans have a record of 5W-0l-0d on the reggae girlz. Each match, the United States has finished bleaching and scored at least four goals. At its first meeting in 1994, the United States won 10-0.
The last meeting, the United States, the United States won 5-0 in the CONCACAF W 2022 championship phase, which won its place at the FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup. Sophia Wilson, Rose Lavelle, Kristie Mewis and Trinity Rodman marked for the American team.
5. The summer series will come back
This match can close this international window, but the USWNT will be back together later this summer with three other games.
The Americans will face the Republic of Ireland in a pair of friendly matches on June 26 and 29 at Commerce City, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio, respectively.
