First look at the look of the Marco Bellocchio Hbo Max series

EXCLUSIVE: The first two episodes of the new Italian series of the Maestro de Marco Bellocchio for Hbo Max, PortobelloWill Unpool at Venice Film Festival Monday. We have a first overview of the trailer-check it above.

The series is the first original Italian production introduced by Warner Bros Discovery for Max and will launch in 2026. It tells the story of “one of the most blatant errors in Italian justice” involving the presenter of television Enzo Tortora, and is presented as a tragic story of the fall of an innocent man.

In 1982, Tortora was at the top of success. He hosts PortobelloWho reaches 28 million viewers during television during great listening hours, eagerly waiting for the participant who will be able to bring the guest of honor out of the program: a parrot.

According to the synopsis: Tortora is the King of television in the 1980s; Its program reflects the country and offers it comfort. During these years, Irpinia’s earthquake gave the final blow to the fragile balance within the criminal organization Nuova Camorra Organizzata. Giovanni Pandico, a subordinate of confidence of the boss of the Mafia Raffaele Cutolo and faithful observer of Portobello From his prison cell, decides to become an informant. While questioned by the judges, he drops an unexpected name: Enzo Tortora. When, on June 17, 1983, the Carabinieri hit the door of his hotel, Tortora thinks that it is a mistake. The cast includes Fabrizio Gifuni as Enzo Tortora, Lino Musella, Barbora Bobulova, Romana Maggiora Vergano, Davide Mancini, Federica Facassi, Carlotta Gamba, Giada Fortini, Massimiliano Rossi, Pier Giorgio Bellocchio, Gianfranco Gallo as Raffaele Cutolo, Alessandro Preziosi.

The series is produced by our films (a Mediawan company) and Kavac Film, with Arte France, Rai Fiction and The Apartment Pictures (a group of group Fremantle). It is produced by Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani for our films, and by Simone Gattoni for Kavac Film.

The series was written by Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Kisses, Giordana Mari and Peppe Fiore.
