“It’s basically a story about family and how to survive it.” 20th Century has released a fun featurette for Ella McCaya new half-political, half-family comedy coming to theaters in December. This is a glimpse into the making of this new film. The first directed by James L. Brooks since he directed how do you know in 2010 (which we talked about at the time!). I hope he will always be funny and charming. In Ella McCayEmma Mackey plays an idealistic young woman who juggles her family and professional life. A comedy about the people you love and how to survive them. She will take over the job of her mentor, the state’s long-serving outgoing governor, and will now begin a whole new life (in politics). The full cast presents Emma Mackey as the titular Ella McCay, with Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Lowden, Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Spike Fear, Rebecca Room, Julie Kavner, Joey Brooks, Becky Ann Bakerwith Albert Brooks And Woody Harrelson. Just a few behind-the-scenes glimpses in this quick promo video, mostly with the cast discussing how great it was working with Brooks. And how good he is at creating comedy.
