First Look at Los Angeles-Set Thriller ‘Crime 101’

“The stories converge…and it’s a game of cat and mouse.” Amazon MGM Studios has debuted a new promotional trailer for the heist thriller Crime 101from director Bart Layton (from The imposter, American animals). Thanks to this excellent cast, the film is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere starting February 2026. The film centers on Detective Lou Lubesnick, played by Ruffalo, who tracks down a complex jewel thief who adheres to the rules of “Crime 101” – a strict set of guidelines for a perfect heist without ever getting caught. Based on the short story of the same name by Don Winslow. As a major multi-million dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all players are forced to face the cost of their choices – and realize that there is no going back. The formidable ensemble present Crime 101 understand Chris Hemsworth, Marc Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leighwith Nick Nolte And Halle Berry. The first trailer debuted a few months ago, and this new teaser doesn’t add much other than a glimpse at some car chases and the actors involved. Take a look below.

Set in the sun-bleached backdrop of Los Angeles, Crime 101 tells the story of an elusive thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose high-stakes heists taking place along the iconic 101 Freeway have mystified the police. As he contemplates his life’s score with the hope that this will be his last job, his path collides with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who finds herself at a crossroads, forcing them to work together. Determined to solve the case, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even further.
