Meet…Digger! Wow! A surprise first look via Warner Bros today – they’ve finally revealed the official title and some very quick looks at footage from the new Tom Cruise/Iñárritu movie coming out next October in the fall. This highly anticipated and very expensive new project is officially titled Excavator – because Tom Cruise plays the role of a man named Digger Rockwell. Who is he? Well, we’re still not sure. They are still keeping plot details secret. The only other synopsis adds: The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove himself the savior of humanity before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything. Is he a superhero of some sort? Especially with this image of him with a shovel, it reminds me of Shoveler from Mystery men with a bit of the same vibes as Will Smith in Hancock. The complete Digger set includes: Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hueller, Rice Ahmed, Sophie Wilde, Emma D’Arcy, Robert John Burke, Burn Gorman, Michael Stuhlbarg, John Goodman. With the maestro’s cinematography Emmanuel Lubezki find Innaritu again after Birdman & The ghost. I can’t wait to see more! Enjoy this first glimpse…
