“She reminds you of me?” Meet Cherry. Prime Video revealed a trailer for a new streaming series entitled The girlfriendA family drama of 6 episodes based on the best -selling novel of the same name. Ready for streaming in September after summer ends. “A mother. A son. Her girlfriend. And the lie they will want to have never been informed.” Laura’s idyllic life with a perfect husband and son is broken when her son’s new girlfriend seems suspicious. Who is she really? Determined to protect Daniel, Laura’s actions become uncontrollable, which raises the question: is it rightly prudent or consumed by paranoia? “Truth is a question of perspective.” Uh oh. Based on the novel by Michelle Frances, the girlfriend follows Laura (Robin Wright), a woman who apparently has everything: a sparkling career, a loving husband and her precious son, Daniel. His perfect life takes place when Daniel brings home Cherry (Olivia Cooke), a new girlfriend who changes everything. After a tense introduction, Laura becomes convinced Cherry hides something.
