Do you believe in monsters? This is the central question at the heart of “Dust Bunny”, the start of the functionality of “Hannibal” and the creator of “Pushing Daisies” Bryan Fuller.
When a little girl (Sophie Sloan) hires her neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen), a hitman, to kill the monster under her bed who, she said, ate her parents, is there a real monster? Or were his parents involved in the criminal activity of the neighborhood?
Although “Dust Bunny” was not presented until Monday evening, as part of the Midnight Madness program of the Toronto International Film Festival before a theatrical release in December, the new trailer should give you an idea of what you expect. Look at it below.
“Dust Bunny” also features Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, Rebecca Henderson and Sheila Atim, and presents the magnificent increased visuals that we expect from Full Plus – pushed colors, surrealism pops and a very singular point of view (in this case, the girl). There is a big moment when someone comes to a door and, distorted through a window in the door, it looks like the creeping hand of an invisible ghoul.
Producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, by Thunder Road (producers of the series “John Wick”), produced “Dust Bunny”, which will be released via a partnership between Lionsgate and road attractions.
In 2023, Fuller, whose small screen credits also include the creation of “Dead Like Me” and “Star Trek: Discovery”, was exploited to write and direct a new adaptation of the Stephen King “Christine” killer car film for Sony and Blumhouse. I hope there is still gas in this tank. He was also involved in an earlier iteration of the next prequel series “Friday 13” “Crystal Lake”, by A24 and Peacock.
Mikkelsen, of course, played in “Hannibal” from Fuller, who was the last television project of the star. The actor’s “The Last Viking” also comes from his first in Tiff.
“Dust Bunny” will be released in theaters on December 5.
