FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Heavy snowfall expected Sunday

The Minnesota Weather Authority has issued an early forecast alert as a major winter storm aims to impact Minnesota and Wisconsin on Sunday. This day will start with mild temperatures in the 30s, with rain and a wintry mix as precipitation begins just after sunrise. As an arctic front arrives from the northwest, temperatures quickly drop to between 15 and 20 degrees with constant, and sometimes heavy, snowfall. This, combined with wind gusts exceeding 40 MPH, will create hazardous road conditions and limited visibility.
By the time the snow clears early Monday morning, several inches of accumulation are likely, especially along and east of the I-35 corridor.
This is shaping up to be a high impact weather event. As always, stay tuned to the Minnesota Weather Authority for changing conditions as our next snowfall arrives.
