Fire restrictions announced in Carson City

Carson City, NV – Perform on July 1, 2025, the Carson City fire service implements fire restrictions in the city and private lands in Carson City. With the increase in daytime temperatures, wind and drying fuels, the danger of forest fires caused by humans has intensified.

Fire restrictions prohibit:

• Build, maintain, assist or use a fire (using wood, charcoal or any other material), campfire or stove fire, with the exception of a portable stove using gas or liquid pressure fuel, outside a camping or picnic of freshly developed (except per license).
• Smoking is not authorized in any area with fuel or flammable vegetation (that is to say grass, brushes, weeds, sage brushes, etc.).
• Operating vehicles or other motorized equipment excluding cobblestones, existing dirt gravel or dirt roads.
• Welding or operation of an acetylene torch with open flames, except per license.
• Using or using any explosive, except per license.
• Possession or use of fireworks (always prohibited) or any other incendiary apparatus.
• Using tracker towers, steel nuclei ammunition or explosive targets during recreational shooting.
• Open burn (for example, weeds, brushes and garden debris).
