Films quirky in the Karlovy Vary Film Festival program

The 59th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), which starts in the Czech city of the SPA, again offers a mixture of world first and hidden jewels to discover, as well as strong points of the circuit of the festival last year.
As is the tradition, the largest film festival and the central Europe party will feature regional and international films, with Kviff will once again present pure and more bizarre survey films.

How is it for a cinematographic teaser with a touch? “Vanquished in combat, Ángel returns home to his village in a remote part of the Peruvian Andes. When he arrives, however, he finds that the place has changed completely. What was the 18th century is now the present.”
In this co-production between Spain, Peru, Colombia and France, director Daniel Vidal Toche, who co-written the film with Ignacio Vuelta, dissects what people who live in Peru are fighting today and if there is still a place for revolutionary thought. Ángel is joined in his quest by Eustaquia, a girl looking for her sister.
It seems that the public can expect a ride hell, both in terms of presentation and history. With Angllo Faccini cinematography, Horses anatomy “Takes the spectator in a visually and intellectually stimulating trip through the continuum of space-time, ”promises Kviff.

The last of the writer-director Miro Remo vaguely develops a theme explored in the book of the same name by Aleš Palán and Jan Šibík, who “provocatively asks if it is possible to spend your whole life in one place”, according to Kviff.

A global renowned role -playing game developed by Warhorse Studios de Prague makes its cinematographic debut as a film specially created for the Karlovy Vary Festival. “This distinctive piece offers a powerful viewing experience – a treat both for fans of the cult computer game and for those who have not yet entered its intriguing world,” promises the KVIFF website.
Daniel Vávra and Petr Pekař are credited as directors of the film, which brings the party to the world of the game. The artistic director Karel Och calls it “an exceptionally original contribution to our long -standing goal to present powerful and captivating stories captured in a unique way.”
“It is the year 1403, and the bohemian kingdom is in chaos. “At the 1982 Cannes Film Festival, Wim Wenders invited several of his colleagues estimated in a hotel room, where he filmed their reflections on the future of cinema,” highlights the Kviff synopsis. “This exclusive documentary survey, Salle 666Inspired two Czech producers to engage in a similar company in collaboration with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. During the festival last year, they invited around 30 Czech or Czech filmmakers of all generations and asked them `What makes Czech Czech film? ” ”
