Featurette and superman BTS Spotlight David Corenswet on set as Man of Steel

Superman is now in theaters, and seems to have gone rather well with the majority of fans. The film has its share of detractors, of course, but one thing that most people seem to be able to get along is that David Corenswet has done great work as a new steel man on the big screen.

Corenswet dropped the slightly darker edge (some could say to the Dour) which is generally associated with the previous vision of Henry Cavill on the character, offering a more hopeful incarnation (some could say Ringards) of Kal-El which was much more like the version of Christopher Reeve.

Now Hollywood Authentic has shared photos of BTS in black and white and a featurette highlighting the very first day of Corenswet on the set after filled as an emblematic hero of DC Comics.

“My first hearing was a car band I made in my house with my wife,” said the actor in the video below. “I saw this kind of Hollywood humor in it – like a Fred Astaire or a Donald O’Connor or a Jimmy Stewart humor. I was excited to do it and I thought I would do a good job with that, but I was not sure that James had wanted this way. So, for everything, I knew that it was not what he was looking for.”

Superman also features Rachel Brosnahan in the role of Lane laws, Nicholas Hoult in the role of Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced like Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi like M. Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Métamorpho.

The distribution also priitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell as “Ma” and “PA” Kent, and the Supergirl of Milly Alcock was confirmed to make its debut before its own Tomorrow’s wife movie.

“And it’s an envelope,” Gunn posted last year once the shoot was ended. “May God bless our casting and our crew whose commitment, creativity and hard work gave life to this project. I decided to make a film on a good man in a world that is not always so much.

Thank you all at the bottom of my heart. It was an honor. The destination was Superman, but the journey was the work and laughter and the emotions and the ideas and the magic that we shared together on the set – and for that, I am eternally grateful. “”

You can consult a synopsis for the film below.

“In his signature style, James Gunn faces the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular mixture of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who is motivated by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humanity.”
