Favor’s favorite salad I do each Fathers Day

I make this broccoli salad recipe for the barbecue of the Fathers of my family every year. He is a favorite of Love & Lemons Reader – he has more than 400 5 -star reviews!
The day of Mother’s Day, we make brunch. The day of the Fathers’ Day, we are scratching!
This is how it is in my family, anyway. While we could sit towards a baby frittata or Dutch in the morning of Mother’s Day, when Fathers festival rolls, the weather is too pleasant for an interior meal.
So my family meets at the end of the afternoon for a barbecue. My brother-in-law Josh is in charge of the main dishes (thank you, Josh!), And I am in service flat.
I like to change the menu from year to year, but there is a recipe that I make every time: my easy broccol.
Here is why I like this broccoli salad recipe:
- He do better If you do. I don’t know about you, but I love a barbecue accompaniment dish that I can do in advance. It actually improves as it is, because the crude broccoli softens and absorbs the flavor of the vinaigrette. I often do one to two days in advance and store it in the refrigerator until I am ready to serve.
- The mixture of textures and flavors is delicious. The traditional Midwest Broccoli salad is made of bacon. In this recipe, I replace it with smoked roasted almonds and pepitas. They add crunchy hazelnuts and salad flavor to salad, which creates a delicious contrast to the creamy vinaigrette and soft dried cranberries.
- It is an easy way to eat a lot of broccoli. Broccoli raw is not everyone’s favorite, but this recipe makes it cool and fun. With the vinaigrette and the tasty toppings, my whole family continues to go back!
If you are looking for an accompaniment dish for Father’s Day or any barbecue this summer, you can’t go wrong with this broccoli salad recipe.

Do you want to make this salad? Here are some tips:
- Cut the broccoli into small pieces. The broccoli in this salad is believed. If the pieces are too large, they do not soften in the vinaigrette. For the best texture, cut the broccoli into small flagships that will absorb the vinaigrette.
- Keep the nuts separately. Crunchy roasted nuts are such a tasty part of this salad. You can do them in advance at the same time as you make the salad, but you need to store them in a separate container at room temperature until you serve. If you add them too early, they will lose their crisis.
