Daniel Farke praised a “magic evening” while Leeds United began his Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory against Everton.
The penalty of the 84th minute of Lukas Nmecha gave Leeds a victory deserved in a match in which they dominated possession before their medal of Elland Road.
With matches against Arsenal and Newcastle United then for Leeds, the three points could prove to be essential for the newly promoted Leeds while they offered to ensure that they remain in the division.

“It was a magical night. It was special,” said Farke. “We are happy and grateful to our supporters who had to suffer a lot over the years.
“It’s great to see joy and pride in their eyes and great to give supporters who are so emotional and so much care about this incredible club. It was a leading performance. We were dominant in the first half and we had 12 shots.
“It is exceptional for a newly promoted side. I was a little worried because we were so dominant and normally scoring.
“It can be expensive when you don’t seize your opportunities. But Lukas Nmecha took advantage of it. A hardened victory but also a well -deserved victory. ”
The two previous seasons each saw the three newly promoted teams get back directly, and Farke knows how important a solid start could be important when Leeds hopes to ensure that the trend is burst in 2025-2026.
“A good start is still crucial,” he added. “The first away victory and the first white sheet. We have to continue and earn many more points.”
