Fantastic football – Don’t be surprised if … Lawrence and Young are the first 10 QB, Ekeler is the answer and Meyers shines in week 1

Each week in the NFL is its own story – full of surprises, both positive and negative – and fantastic football managers must decide what to believe and what not to believe in the future. Maybe we can help. If one of these thoughts is realized … Don’t be surprised!
Note: Any mention of fantastic points concerns PPR formats, unless otherwise indicated.
Nine quarters who went No. 1 should start this week, but the only match with more than one is the home match of the Jaguars Jaguars somewhat forgotten against the Carolina Panthers. Ok, so it’s not exactly Lions-Packers or Ravens tickets, because the Panthers and the Jaguars combined for only nine victories last season, but still. They have quarters that fancy managers should consider.
Don’t be surprised if … Trevor Lawrence and Bryce Young deliver the 10 best outings on Sunday
Let’s start with Lawrence, because it is registered in more than 35% of the standard ESPN leagues (still too low), and therefore, more likely to be in fantastic alignments. The 2024 version of Lawrence did not appreciate its best statistical season before the injury of its undeveloped shoulder ends things prematurely, but let us remember that it was the Fantasy QB n ° 7 in 2022, and it missed the top 10 in 2023. The choice of the TOP 2021 was really not so disappointing in his career.
The jaguars of this season are upgraded all around, with a new coach staff, WR Travis Hunter, awarded by the Heisman trophy (brilliant if he also plays in defense, but that will not harm his WR figures) and a better offensive line. Few seem to consider Lawrence as a fantastic QB potential of the top-10, even if that’s what it was. The panthers seem somewhat improved in the defensive disorder of last season, but it is a positive match. Perhaps we do not recommend Lawrence against Houston’s Texans in week 3, but this week he should prosper.
Likewise, the end of the season of Young, if he continued to use his legs to raise fantastic points, is a legitimate fantastic sleeper against the jaguars and many defenses. Young entered the week 13 with a precipitated touch, then he added five more in the last six games. It has changed everything. Young also launched seven Touché passes in the last three games and on average 26.8 fantastic ppg during this period. Expect points in it (take the ESPN bet on 46.5 points, and young people of more than 225 yards by the pass), and each of these QB should exceed 20 fantasy points.
Other QB thoughts that should not surprise: Likewise, Sophomore of the Patriots of New England Drake Maye Can look around and see the improvements to Gogo, from coaching to players. Maye should find it easier to rush this season, starting on Sunday against ordinary raiders (at best) of Las Vegas. … I am already thinking of commercial offers to make for Chicago Bears in the second year Caleb Williams Next week in a league or three if he has trouble on Monday against the Vikings of Minnesota. Hey, the Vikings play a strong defense. However, Williams remains a worthy long -term investment. … The Rams of Los Angeles say that Matthew Stafford (rear) is in fairly good health to start on Sunday against physical Texans. Those in the deeper fantastic leagues should be the competent safeguard (but also brittle) Jimmy GroppoloAlso. Take ahead. What if Jimmy G ends up playing as much this season as the recruit of the Giants of New York Jaxson Dart or one of the recruits of Cleveland Browns? No one knows.
Do not be surprised if … Austin Ekeler is the RB commanders on which count
The commanders underminized Ekeler in his first season with the franchise, and not only in the game of passes. It has an average of 4.8 yards per race and showed a healthy burst. Almost everyone presumes that Brian Robinson Jr.’s trade with the 49ers of San Francisco was to obtain more Touches Recruue Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Perhaps, but Ekeler also deserves more volume, and it can be a back to three. Give more volume Chris Rodriguez Jr. short-yarding stuff. Croskey-Merritt is far from safe on Sunday against the New York giants, and not because the commanders lists him fourth on the depth table. Do not pay attention to the depth cards of the team.
In fact, the fantastic draft of August Croskey-Merritt can watch a large part of the Sunday match and become free agent equipment in many leagues by Wednesday, creating a value opportunity. This situation remains fluid, but Washington does not have to force the recruit to two -digit keys initially. Ekeler scored 28.8 points in two games against the Giants last season. Expect at least five receptions and full keys this Sunday.
Other RB thoughts that should not surprise: I am hardly anti-Roche. For example, I see the dolphins of Miami giving Ollie Gordon II Important opportunities against Indianapolis colts, and not only because the start of RB de’von Achane (CALF) is limited. I ranked Gordon in front of Croskey-Merritt for a reason. Oh, and stop looking at what real life of these recruits was chosen, because the coaches don’t care. … I would avoid, just a little, from the recruit of Los Angeles Chargers Omarion Hampton. The veteran Najee Harris (Eye) plays, he is proven and you know that coach Jim Harbaugh loves him. … I am everything for new arrivals patriots Treveyon HendersonHowever. I bet that Rhamondre Stevenson is a fantastic renunciation this week. … Speaking of recruits, keep the second round of Cleveland Browns Quinshon Judkins Rangul, even if it remains unfinished. That said, Jerome Ford is underestimated by all. Watch the Browns mark more than 30 on the Bengals of Cincinnati this weekend. This is another inclination to bet the most (47.5 points).
Don’t be surprised if … Jakobi Meyers brand 20 fantastic points on Sunday
Meyers made a surprising news at the end of August when he asked for a job, requesting a contract extension. It did not happen. I cannot add empirical data here, but it certainly seemed that Meyers was starting to discolor more in the drafts after these news, which is good because I continued to invest. Meyers did not hold or caused problems in the camp. He continued to practice. He plays on Sunday. In fact, there was strangely little follow -up of this news. Some people think that raiders quickly reacted by signing the veteran Amari Cooper, but it can happen even without this “drama”. Fantasy managers reacted by choosing other wide receivers who did not take 87 assists for 1,027 yards last season.
Interestingly, Cooper chose to retire on Thursday, so those who disappeared Meyers could regret it. I have always believed that Meyers would have another solid season in 2025, in particular with Geno Smith competent to QB replacing the lower quality crew of Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder. The presence of the impressive recruit Ashton Jeanty helps the game of passes, and there is a better training in place now. Oh, and this week, Meyers returns to New England for the first time to face his old organization. The timing is everything!
Other WR thoughts that should not surprise: Miami Dolphins veteran in Miami Tyreek Hill (oblique) seems to be a theme (too) popular these days, for drafts and in week 1. I do not think that Hill’s availability for week 1 is in question, and I like the match against the colts. I also don’t think we should assume that QB Tagu Tagovailoa only launches short passes, just like the plan at the end of last season. If you already have a hill, count on him. If you have not yet written, don’t miss you or you will miss a long TD this week. … Jerry Jeudy And Cedric Tillman Investors should love Browns starting Joe Flacco against Bengals. We could see a pair of 100 yards receiving efforts compared to this defense. … I ranked the newcomer of the Vikings / OldComer Adam Thielen Better than most because I hope he can quickly assimilate in this offense, and QB JJ McCarthy should go well. In one month, when Jordan Addison is no longer suspended, re -evaluate. … it is just to worry about the veteran of New Orleans Chris Olave By doing four months. However, he is in good health this weekAnd we classify it collectively as a WR2. It is certainly playable this week and every week, whatever the inexperienced QB launches the ball.
