Fans go crazy as Bangladesh crush West Indies in 3rd ODI to seal series

Bangladesh closed out their ODI series against West Indies in emphatic fashion, recording a 179-point victory in the third and final match at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, to win the series 2-1.
Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan lead Bangladesh’s batting attack
After opting to bat first, the hosts posted a commanding 296/8 on the board, fueled by dazzling half-centuries from Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hassan, before dismantling the West Indies batting line-up in just 30.1 overs.
Sarkar, who was later voted Player of the Match, continued his superb form with a 91 off 86 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes. His opening partner Saif provided equally strong support with an explosive total of 80 off 72 deliveries, interspersed with six boundaries and as many sixes. The pair added a brilliant partnership of 142 runs for the first wicket, creating the perfect platform for Bangladesh’s innings.
After a blistering start, former captain Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed a steady 44 off 55 balls, including three sixes, while Towhid Hridoy played a patient 28 off 44. Despite a middle-order slump, quick cameos from Nurul Hasan (16 off 8) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (17 off 17) pushed Bangladesh close to the mark. 300 points.
The West Indies bowlers had a difficult outing, although Akeal Hosein stood out with a superb spell of 4/41 in his 10 overs, expertly mixing flight and control. Alick Athanaze also chipped in with 2/37, while Roston Chase and Gudakesh Motie took a wicket each. However, the visitors lost runs in the death overs, allowing Bangladesh to finish strongly at 296/8 in 50 overs.
West Indies collapse in chase
Chasing 297 for victory, the West Indian innings never gained momentum. The visitors suffered an early collapse, losing captain Shai Hope (4 off 16) and Ackeem Auguste (0) in the opening overs. The Bangladeshi bowlers exploited the surface expertly, maintaining relentless pressure through spin and variation.
Brandon King was the top scorer among the best with a quick 18 from 17 balls, while Alick Athanaze and Keacy Carty both chipped in 15 runs each. The lower order offered little resistance, save Akeal Hosein, who made a valiant 27 off 15 deliveries with four boundaries and a six to briefly delay the inevitable.
The Bangladesh spinners orchestrated the demolition with surgical precision. Nasum Ahmed was the destroyer in chief, returning magnificent figures of 3/11 in 6 overs. Tanvir Islam (2/16) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (2/35) maintained tight lines, while Rishad Hossain completed them with 3/54. West Indies were eventually bowled out for 117 in 30.1 overs, suffering one of their heaviest ODI defeats in recent memory.

The victory marked Bangladesh’s second series victory of the year and a fitting end to a competitive competition. The local team had earlier he had won the first ODI by 74 runsbefore West Indies won the second match via a thrilling super over. What happened to @windiescricket? 🇪🇭
Money talks, T20 leagues win. Top talent is continually lured away by lucrative global contracts because national salary structures cannot compete.
Until the foundations are repaired (board and money), the struggle continues.#BANvWI pic.twitter.com/NMjyzR5Qlf
