Fabel hires Christel Miller as senior creative director

Christel Miller, one of the principals behind the 2023 “Jury Duty” television experience, has joined Fabel Entertainment as senior creative director of special projects.
In the newly created role, Miller will work with CEO Henrik Bastin and Senior Vice President Jasmine Russ to “expand the company’s diverse portfolio of premium scripted content, forging new partnerships, bringing together projects with top talent and guiding high-value development opportunities that advance the company’s long-term vision,” according to a release from press.
Fabel was previously head of scripted content at Freevee, the free streaming service from Amazon MGM Studios. There, she led the development of the hit surprise comedy “Jury Duty” and helped launch “Sprung,” “Primo,” “High School” and the Fabel-produced series “Bosch: Legacy” and “Ballard.” She also helped develop the Prime Video drama series “Motorheads” and “On Call.” Before Amazon, she worked at NBC — where she oversaw “Superstore,” “Parenthood,” “Good Girls,” “Blindspot,” “New Amsterdam” and “Grimm” — and Showtime during the era of “Dexter,” “The L Word” and “Nurse Jackie.”
“We have known Christel for a long time as a fantastic leader and collaborator working on the buy side,” said Bastin. “She has a great eye for storytelling and a knack for identifying what makes a series special. We’re excited to have her join Fabel where she’ll get to work with our team as we prepare for season two of ‘Ballard’ and ‘Bosch: Start of Watch’ in the new year.”
Russ added: “The new energy Christel brings to Fabel makes this next chapter for the company particularly exciting. She is a successful series creator, a champion of big ideas and a trusted creative guide. Her experience and true love of the craft make her an inspiring partner – and exactly the one we want in our corner to create the television we love.”
Miller said: “I have long admired Fabel’s commitment to fearless, character-driven storytelling. This is a team that truly values creative collaboration and taking on big changes. I’m honored to help shape the next phase of Fabel’s growth and continue to create series that resonate around the world.”
