Forest of Nottingham: Morgan Gibbs-White says that the team will be “unstoppable”

The context is crucial to watch the slow start.
The first 3-0 PostCoglou defeat by Arsenal last month came after a complete training session with the whole team after the international break.
There have been glimpses of the way he wants to play, but so far he has not been able to obtain results, a 1-1 draw in the Premier League in Burnley after a late collapse in the Carabao Cup in Swansea.
Whatever the five games, PostCoglou was only in charge of 22 days with a limited time on the training field, which means that there is no internal concern about the race without a victory, with belief that they just need time.
“One key thing that the manager said is that once everyone is on board with the style of play and the tactics, the faster the results will come,” Sky Sports told last week.
“It’s just about us now to get used to your tactics and the new style of play, which is obviously different from our previous manager. The faster that meets, the faster we will get results.”
PostCoglou itself remains some of these results once the team gets used to their style after almost two years under Nuno.
Until now, there is little difference by looking at the statistics – even if the team’s expansiveness is obvious.
Under Nuno, who also managed three championship games this season, Forest had 57% possession against 58% on Postcoglou.
Forest made 146 additional assists during the three championship games with the new manager and had 44 shots – against 31 sous nuno – although they only marked once.
They faced more shots (39) in postcoglou matches than under Nuno (30), but the expected goals (XG) went from 5.0 to 3.9.
Looking at the Tottenham forest against Nuno de Postecoglou last season, there is a clear difference in certain key measurements.
The Spurs made 11 errors leading to goals, compared to the four of Forest, while their XG against 64.3 was the fourth higher in the league, with Forest 12th out of 49.6.
Forest carried out 12,956 passes in 2024-25, a hollow of the league, while the spurs were sixth with 18,248.
Spurs also had more possession, more expected goals and more cross – showing the attacker nature of the postcoglou style – but the forest finished seventh, 27 points before Tottenham, 17th.
“We have to continue to develop our football,” said Postcoglou. “It is not because it facilitates a kind of pressure, but I really believe that when everything clicks and we are operational, we will be a high level team and the results will flow.
“I would hate that we arrived at the end of the year and we look at this step and that we wanted if we had some more victories, we would be in an excellent position. I don’t want to continue.
“I have no doubt that the results will come and we will be a convincing team to look at and in the way we play our football, and the results will follow this.
“It is important in this early stage that you win games, so when everything clicks, you are able to succeed.”
