Expedia reveals travel destinations on the best islands, locations for 2025

Aruba, Bali and the Dominican Republic are among the destinations at the top of the hot list of the Isle of Expedia in 2025, a guide to the most popular island zones, based on recent reservation and research trends.
Aruba, a southern Caribbean country with Dutch ties, was named the best island for “sun all year round”, Expedia reporting a 15% increase in travel interest in 2024.
Bali, in the meantime, was classified as the “best for relaxation”, the Indonesian island at the top of the wishes of ecological travelers in search of “zero waste hospitality, well-being and cultural connection”. Think of escapes of conscience and spiritual awakening in a lush and quiet setting.
The Dominican Republic ranked third on the Expedia list, with the Latin American Caribbean Nation listed as “the best for adventure”. Expedia claims that traveling in DR have increased by 10% in annual shift, and tourists are now looking at the all -inclusive seaside resorts for which the country is known, and chooses to book outdoor excursions such as cascade, mountain biking, mountain biking, diving, apnea and ziplinary instead. A number of best -classified golf courses have also arisen on the island, offering a picturesque view of the ocean across 18 holes.
Other international destinations that have made the hot list of the island of Expedia include Fiji, Jamaica, Koh Samui (Thailand), Maldives, Paros (Greece) and Sardinia (Italy).
Here in the United States, Oahu, Hawaii is at the top of domestic destinations, with Expedia noting it “the best for surfing”. The other popular American island cities include Nantucket and Palm Beach, with travel interests up 40% and 30% from one year to the next, respectively.

The Expedia report has revealed that global interest in the holidays on the Global Island increased on average by 30% compared to 2024, the site citing factors such as better connectivity (via more travel paths and options) and an increased range of cultural, natural and recreational attractions.
The report was extracted from the reviews of verified travelers, travel advice and research data on expedia.com. A particular consideration has been granted to affordability, accessibility (that is, having enough hotels to meet demand), weather, travelers and inclusiveness.
“These destinations go beyond the postcard – embracing sustainability, authenticity and cultural wealth,” reads a press release. “Beyond the beautiful photos, they offer culture and authenticity, demonstrating how the islands adapt and redefine what means traveling on these unique edges of the world.”
As for the best month for insulting trips: you still have time to book, as Expedia says that September is the optimal moment to be on the island, due to the “best mixture of affordability and time”. The site indicates that you can also save money while traveling for months excluding wells, guests save up to 50% on average prices when booking the dead.
