Ex-Miami, Maryland Safety Williams arrested for murder

Former Miami and Maryland Safety Avantae Williams were arrested and accused of second-degree murder in a man’s deadline during the weekend in Florida.
Deland police said in a press release that Williams, 24, had been arrested on Monday and placed in police custody without incident. According to the press release, police officers from the Deland police service and the Sheriff volusia office responded to a shooting on Saturday morning in a bar in Deland. Witnesses told investigators that there had been a fight between several men inside the bar. During the fight, a man released a gun and started shooting.
Police said Keshod Harris, 32, of Deland, had been shot, and a bartender was also injured during the shooting.
Williams, overall security No. 1 in the 2020 class and former ESPN 300 prospect, was launched from the Miami team in 2021 after being arrested for three aggravated battery leaders of a pregnant person. But he was reinstated after the abolition of the accusations and served a suspension of six games.
He played 17 career games for the Hurricanes before transferring to Maryland for the 2023 season. He spent a year with the Terps, playing in four games.
